I can't wait to check out this documentary, Jody! This looks like fun and, like you said, a spotlight on who we really are. I bet my boys would like it too.❤️
Wonderful piece Jody. I spent as quiet an Independence Day that I can remember in all of the 76 that I’ve been around for. I certainly felt nothing to celebrate this go round.
Thanks, Bobby. It was a subdued one for me, too. Watched the fireworks and thought about how they re-enact the fight for a constitutional republic that we're now in real danger of losing. But I'm still hopeful.
Yes, we're still here. We had a great day cleaning up and organizing some long festering piles of stuff and papers and music, and no fireworks for us. Thank you for pointing that out about the Social Security post. I just read it before seeing your comments... Name of the game is immediate gratification in order to create a the desired impression before the bad stuff sinks in, by which time they can blame it on someone else. Although everyone is rightly aghast at the destruction of our healthcare, food supply, and energy, I agree that what is most terrifying and will have the most immediate impact is the Gestapo-level funding for ICE and the concentration-camp-level funding for detainment.
A day spent organizing old piles is always a good day. Yes, combined with Trump's escalating talk about ending birthright citizenship and deporting U.S. citizens, the huge increase in ICE's budget is a threat to all of us.
What a day. I’m still trying to post something too😩 I love your T-shirt. What a journey of trust to rely only on kindness of strangers, but as a single elderly woman, not sure the sign “not a serial killer” would reassure me! 😹

I bet they would! :) It's really a lot of fun to watch, and so poignant in parts.

Sending a hug right back, Sarah. Phew...complicated, yes. <3
